On Wenesday 24th June the band of Gymea North Public School went to Bandfest. Bandfest is where school bands from all across the Sutherland Shire come to play music, have fun and compete against each other. Music is a fun and educational way to make friends and learn lots.
This year we had 5 flutes, 4 trumpets, 3 clarinets and 1 bass guitar, saxophone and percussionist. We had heaps of fun and were awarded a Bronze award.
On Wednesday the 24th June the school performing band went along to the St George Auditorium at Kogarah to perform 3 songs: Shout, Cool Cat Shuffle and Unchained Melody. We performed at 10.30 in front of parents from all school. The adjudicator gave us a Bronze award which was really good.
We packed away our instruments and watched all the other schools perform, for example Stanwell Park PS, Como West PS and Miranda North PS.
We are all looking forward to next year.
